Marina Nakamura(中村 真里奈,Nakamura Marina, born February 7, 1987) is a Japanese singer-songwriter from Miyazaki who is signed to 5pb.. Marina debuted in 2010 singing songs for the anime TV series Angel Beats! as one of two vocalists for the fictional band Girls Dead Monster. In May 2013, she made her major solo debut with the release of her single "Kimi Tsunagu".
Marina had an interest in singing from a young age, and participated in singing contests in Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan. In 2010, Marina made her debut singing songs composed by Jun Maeda for the anime series Angel Beats! as one of two vocalists for the fictional in-story band Girls Dead Monster. Marina was the vocalist for the character Masami Iwasawa, and the second vocalist, LiSA, sang as the character Yui. As Girls Dead Monster, Marina put out two singles in 2010 on Key's record labelKey Sounds Label. The first single "Crow Song" was released on April 23, and the second single "Last Song" was released on December 8. Marina made her first appearance at the 2010 Animelo Summer Live on August 28.
Marina is a station in the Barcelona Metro and Trambesòs tram networks, at the boundary between the Eixample and Sant Martí districts of Barcelona. It is served by TMB line L1 and tram route T4. The station is named after the nearby Carrer de la Marina, and can be accessed from Carrer dels Almogàvers, and the crossing of Carrer de la Marina with the Avinguda Meridiana. It is adapted for disabled people.
The metro station opened in 1933, as the terminus of an extension from Arc de Triomf station, and became a through station in 1951, when line L1 was extended to Clot station. When built, the station's platforms were located below the sidings of the former Estació del Nord railway station, and as a consequence they are now below the Parc de l'Estació del Nord that has replaced these sidings. Although the Estació del Nord itself has now been converted into a bus station and sports hall, these facilities are more easily accessed from Arc de Triomf metro station. The adjacent tram station opened in 2004.
MARINA is an NSA database and analysis toolset for intercepted Internetmetadata (DNI in NSA terminology). The database stores metadata up to a year. According to documents leaked by Edward Snowden: "The Marina metadata application tracks a user's browser experience, gathers contact information/content and develops summaries of target" and "[o]f the more distinguishing features, Marina has the ability to look back on the last 365 days' worth of DNI metadata seen by the Sigint collection system, regardless whether or not it was tasked for collection." [Emphasis in original NSA document.] The stored metadata is mainly used for pattern-of-life analysis. US persons are not exempt because metadata is not considered data by US law (section 702 of the FISA Amendments Act).
The album debuted at number eight on the UK Albums Chart with first-week sales of 16,121 copies. On 23 May 2008, it was certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).I Created Disco had sold 223,845 copies in the United Kingdom by November 2014.
Writing and recording
Writing and recording for I Created Disco started in 2006 when Harris moved back to his hometown of Dumfries, Scotland, after living in London for two years. All recording and producing for the album took place on an Amiga computer with audio tracker OctaMED in Harris's home studio, called Calvinharrisbeats Studio. All fourteen tracks on the album were written, produced and performed solely by Harris.
Preceding the release of the album, Columbia released two singles, "Acceptable in the 80s" and "The Girls", and Harris and his band supported both Faithless and Groove Armada on their live arena tours in the second quarter of 2007. The album cover was also used to promote the fourth generation iPod Nano in yellow.
Vegas is a one-off collaborative album between British solo-artist Terry Hall - formerly of the 2 Tone and ska revival band The Specials - with Dave Stewart formerly of Eurythmics. The duo working with Eurythmics assistants engineer and drummer Olle Romo and engineer Manu Guiot recorded under the group name Vegas. Vegas includes the singles "Possessed", "She" and "Walk into the Wind". Of the three only "Possessed" charted in the UK Top 40. Receiving positive reviews the album was released on CD, Cassette and vinyl LP by the major record label RCA/BMG in October 1992, but failed to chart. The album has since been deleted.
The album was written by Hall and Stewart with the exception of the musical standard "She". No performer credits are provided, Allmusic speculates that Vegas is almost certainly a Dave Stewart production. Dave Stewart likely was responsible for the lion's share of the musical backing with assistance from Romo and Guiot and Hall contributing his vocal.
Following the album's commercial failure the group split. Hall subsequently launched a solo-career, releasing Home in 1994. Stewart also returned to solo-work, releasing Greetings from the Gutter in 1994. The pair re-united in 1997 to support Bob Dylan during his Never Ending Tour for a pair of concerts in Japan.
The single version, also used in the video, is a completely re-recorded version of the song originally featured on the album. This version features saxophone credited to Morgan C. Hoax- an anagram of Graham Coxon from Blur who recorded his contribution after Sleeper supported Blur on tour.
